What Is Inner Shift?
Sometimes knowing isn’t enough.
You may know that you overthink.
You may know that you need to let go.
You may know that you deserve better.
You may even know exactly what you should be doing.
And yet, somehow, you find yourself thinking, feeling or reacting in the same familiar ways.
Why?
Because change isn’t always about knowing something differently.
Sometimes, we need to experience ourselves differently.

That is where Inner Shift begins.
Inner Shift is my approach to help you understand the patterns within you, gently change the way you see them, and practice new ways of thinking, feeling and responding.
It brings together Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) with Clinical Hypnotherapy, when appropriate, to work with both conscious understanding and deeper experiential learning.

It is not about changing who you are.
It is about creating a shift in the way you relate to yourself, your thoughts, your emotions and your life.
THE SHIFT
A simple five-step journey from understanding to change.

S — SEE
Notice what is happening within you.
We begin by slowing down and becoming aware of our thoughts, feelings, reactions and recurring patterns.
What am I thinking?
What am I feeling?
What keeps happening again and again?
Awareness is where change begins.

H — HEAR
Listen to the story you are telling yourself.
Behind many of our reactions are the stories and beliefs we have learned about ourselves, other people and the world.
“I’m not good enough.”
“People always leave.”
“I have to keep everyone happy.”
“I can’t handle this.”
We begin to notice these inner messages instead of simply believing them.

I — IMAGINE
Discover a different way of seeing things.
Together, we gently question old ways of thinking and create a healthier, more balanced perspective.
What if there is another way to look at this?
What could I think differently?
What could I do differently?
What would I like to believe about myself instead?
This is where a new possibility begins to take shape.

F — FEEL & PRACTICE
Experience the new possibility.
Knowing a new thought is one thing.
Feeling it and practicing it is another.
Where clinically appropriate, I integrate therapeutic hypnotherapy with CBT to create a calm, focused space where you can use imagery, therapeutic suggestions and mental rehearsal to practice healthier ways of thinking, feeling and responding.
The aim is not to erase the past or force positive thinking.
It is to give your mind and body an opportunity to experience a different response.

T — TAKE IT INTO LIFE
Let the inner change become everyday change.
The real transformation happens outside the therapy room.
As you practice your new responses, they can begin to influence:
your relationships • your choices • your confidence • your boundaries • your emotions • your everyday life
The goal is not to never struggle again.
The goal is to know that you have new ways of responding when life gets difficult.
